1: Energy Kinesiology Narrator: Tell us how you first got started in Kinesiology.
After teaching elementary school for several years, I decided to change to a healing profession.
I went to the Berkeley Acupressure Institute where one of the classes was Touch for Health. I
became so enthusiastic, I put teaching on hold and as soon as I had my certification as a massage
therapist, I opened an office in downtown Martinez. Within a short time I had three corporate
on-site wellness programs running and I had to hire several (CMT) independent contractors to help
out with the chair massages.
I organized other CMT’s who wanted to participate in working several fairs. We did chair massages
throughout California from Lake Tahoe to San Diego and a couple of years in an annual Las Vegas fair.
At one of these events, I met Janine Sandi and studied with her to be a Reiki master. I then became
a state provider for nurses obtaining CEU”s for Reiki. I received several reports from a nurse in one
of the local hospital’s Emergency Unit that she continually found Reiki to be extremely helpful in
calming distraught patients.
2. What is your educational background.
Most of my clients like Swedish oil massage, Shiatsu, and Tui Nah. My sessions include all three
techniques plus some Hawaiian Lomi Lomi if needed. I use Young Living Essential oils for both table
and chair massages. If one wants Flower Essences for continued therapy at home or consultations, an
individually assessed mixture can be provided.
I have a few clients who come to me just for Reiki or Eric Pearl’s Reconnection. I thoroughly enjoy
giving those sessions because the results are so amazing not only for the client, but for me as well.
Of course, being certified by Berkeley Acupressure Institute, my favorite modality is acupressure.
In studying and using the points, meridians and elements in my therapies over the years my intuition
has increased in finding what the body needs. Energy testing has been useful in confirming my first
impressions. Although I’ve heard the Institute has changed their instructional emphasis, I am grateful
that I was trained with Iona Teagarden’s series of sequentially combined acupressure points with distal
release points. Her work has helped me tremendously with clients who are emotionally needy, and who have
back, neck, and shoulder pains.
In the last couple of months, I have begun to successfully incorporate Evelyn Mulder’s Sound Essence
misters. She has integrated Chakra specific sound, symbol, color, and key words in mists for spraying
the seven Chakras and the tones between them. I am the California distributor for her products that can
be viewed in the products section of this website.
3. Tell us about the modalities you employ and how your clients benefit from them.
I see the environment as an extension of our bodies, especially where we are during most of our
twenty-four hours. Working energetically with the homes and offices or workspaces, is very
similar to working with human bodies. The energy is as easily read, actually, often easier.
We use a pendulum to confirm intuition or to detect what is not obvious.
Around 1994, I was doing chair massage at one of the Sacred Production fairs in Pleasant Hill
California when I met Alexis Summerfield who is now an internationally known Feng Shui Consultant.
She had a booth where she was offering floor plan consultations. When she began to tell me about
using the elements to symbolically change energy in my home, I immediately made the association with
the use of elements in healing the body. I enthusiastically signed up for her Feng Shui workshops.
I became certified in what was then an unfamiliar field. The bookstores had maybe one, or three at the
most, books about it on their shelves.
I joined Alexis in some of her fieldwork and we became very good friends. When I completed my training
at local sights, we did some intense Feng Shui in the Mt. Shasta area. That interaction led to a trip
to Hawaii with twelve other energy workers after 9/11 to do world healing there. In 2002, Alexis came
to Peru with me, when I organized a trip to Machu Picchu with 17 top local healers. We met there with
the Peruvian Shaman who is like a family member to me because of a previous trip I had made to this
sacred part of our earth. The Shaman makes his own incense that is incredibly powerful and is also
available in my product section of this website. Alexis and I continually use his incense for space
purifying and to promote world unification.
Around 1999, I did a radio show with Judith Conrad for about eighteen months where every Tuesday, I
did “The Feng Shui Tip for the Day” during morning commuting hours. People would call in and say they
frequently waited in their cars before going in to work so they could hear the tip that they could use
to energetically make their day a better one. Judith taught me how to do readings, a skill, besides
chair massages, that I took to the fair circuit.
In the last few months I have studied with Christan Hummel of Earth Transitions and I have had tremendous
success with her Orgone pyramids. I took her workshop at the 2005 ENKA Conference in Utah, and applied
her protocol to toxic land sites here in Northern California. Her philosophy has been extremely useful
in sending good energy through “hot spots” instead of confronting negative or toxic energy. Confronting
usually involves backlash whereas putting the pyramids into the area allows the good energy to flow with
surprisingly and amazingly beneficial results.
4. Please share a case history of one of your clients.
They are classes in Pleasanton, California, one to two evenings a month called: Changing Old Patterns
that No Longer Serve You. Five years ago I started out teaching a Feng Shui qua each month. We went
around the bagua two times, and now the topics vary each session based on what is new, what is needed,
and what is fun. I have speakers visit the group occasionally, such as a local psychologist who recently
finished writing a book that is up for publication, Sharon Wendt from Illinois who wrote, “The Radiant Heart”,
Gabriella Barr who spoke on the Ennegram, and the most recent speaker was a Buddhist teacher from Hawaii. We
drum to raise our vibrations, we meditate, and we apply powerful principles for spiritual growth and to bring
in the highest good to our realities. It is always open to new members, if anyone is interested, please email
me: julainak@sbcglobal.net.
5. Would you like to share anything else?
I want to acknowledge a few other people who have been instrumental in my professional and personal growth.
I studied with Sylvia Browne in Campbell, California before 1993. Since then I have followed her progress
in her prolific writings and her appearances on the Montel Williams Show. When I was teaching elementary
school, she predicted I would be doing this kind of work and at that time, I thought she had been mistaken.
But within two years of her reading, I was taking her workshops because the school I was working in closed.
I then willingly pursued, full time, learning and applying the energy work I am able to do now. Her website is
www.sylvia.org.
It was Adrian’s passing in 1997 that catapulted my passion for understanding the spiritual world and the
dimensions beyond our present one.
Dr. Mitchell Corwin’s Neural Organizational Work made me physically able to live life healthier and happier.
I totally believe in the effectiveness of the applied kinesiology that he uses as an assessment tool in his
healing technique. Since I help him in his Berkeley office, I also see so many of his patients with various
symptoms become newly revitalized people in a short time. His website is drcorwin.energykinesiology.com.
Gratefully, I am able to work on my writing between scheduling Dr. Corwin’s patients and my own clients.
I have a book of poems and a book of various short stories that I am refining for publication. Eventually,
I will have sample poems and excerpts from the stories in the writing section of this website. I have three
books in progress:
- A metaphysical mystery set in Main Street, Martinez, California, where an accountant falls in love with a man
in a poster who becomes third dimensionally real but has to stay in close proximity to the poster and can
only move distantly from one Norman Rockwell type scene to another. When mysterious damage occurs to his
poster, she tries to bring him back into the third dimension in whatever way she can.
- A memoir about my years as a special education teacher for multi-challenged children. Often with bodies
bigger than mine but with the cognition of a six month old, these children are each unique in what they
offer to the world. Three of them pass-on during my time with them and their passages show what a
courageous impact they had on everyone around them.
- A book in two parts: the first about the three days in the hospital after Adrian was fatally injured at
the local college theater where he worked. A few flashbacks give an understanding of what a precious
soul he is. The second part is how to keep on living after losing a son on this physical plane. My goal
is to be supportive to anyone who has lost a child as many similar books grounded me when I sat on the
floor reading in the grieving books section of Walnut Creek’s Barnes and Noble Bookstore.
If you would like to contact me about any of the above topics: please email me: julainak@sbcglobal.net.
- Personal Developement for the Individual or Classes (Changing Old Patterns that No Longer Serve You)
